Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo
ॐ नमो गुरु देव् नमो
This is an important mantra usually chanted at the beginning of Kundalini yoga. This mantra means “I bow to the divine wisdom within myself.” It is also called the Adi Mantra.
Ong is another way of saying “om,” which is the Divine in the form of sound. It can stimulate different parts of the brain, specifically the pituitary gland.
Namo is Namaha, which means “my salutations.”
A Guru is a specific teacher that represents a spiritual leader for a believer.
Deva means a god, angel, or the Divine. It describes the teacher as guru or Divine.
Ong namo guru dev namo honors both the yogi’s inner wisdom and the power of their community. It also increases the vibration in which the deepest understanding of Kundalini yoga can be accessed.
